Welcome to Boise Acting Studio
A Professional Actor Training Studio in the heart of the Treasure Valley
Weekly Adult Acting Classes
Our weekly adult classes are for actors of all levels—from beginners to seasoned professionals. Each class is tailored by the instructor to meet students where they are, offering support and challenge in equal measure. The curriculum centers around the foundational technique, rooted in Sanford Meisner’s definition of acting as “living truthfully under imaginary circumstances.”
Through emotional preparation, moment-to-moment exercises, and improvised scene work, actors build the skills needed to show up on set prepared and directable. Once the foundation is solid, students begin working on scripted scene work, with ongoing opportunities to practice scene after scene. The technique is grounded in Meisner and deeply influenced by the teachings of Uta Hagen, Stella Adler, Stanislavski, and the improvisational, actor-driven work of filmmaker John Cassavetes.
Tuesdays 6:30-10:30 (April Grady)
Thursdays 6:30-10:30 (April Grady)
Fridays 6:30-10:30 (Chance Fuerstinger)
Mondays 6:30-10:30 (Ryan McCluskey)
*Note Monday classes are for auditions and cold reads only*
*An audit is required for enrollment, and must be done on a Tuesday or Thursday night. In the audit, you will observe a full class, get to participate in the warm-up and have some time to chat with the instructor to see if this work is a good fit for you. You can schedule your free audit with Abigail at boiseactingstudioassistant@gmail.com

Our History
The Meisner Hybrid curriculum was developed by Andrew Benne, the artistic director and master teacher at Los Angeles Acting Studio in San Diego. It was an evolution that began in various studios where Mr. Benne taught throughout Los Angeles since the 1980s.
